Project: Computer Telephony Technology
Assessment and Product Specification
Conducted technology assessment for large Asian telecommunications
manufacturer which resulted in major shift in direction and potential huge
savings in software maintenance and development costs. Analyzed future
directions in convergence of telecommunication and computing systems and
identified emerging applications.
Project: Technology Planning for Dallas
Independent School District
Project consisted of assisting the Dallas Independent School District (DISD)
in developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for overall control
and growth of their computer and telecommunications systems.
Project: ACD/Call Center Analysis
Conducted analysis of integrated (PBX/ACD) and stand-alone systems for
call centers. Prepared product/market specifications for next generation
ACD/call center system.
Project: Value System Analysis Study
Developed concept for custom client study to analyze value systems and
future scenarios to provide insight into dynamics associated with current
and future competitors.
Project: Market Research and Competitive
Analysis
Developed business, marketing and sales strategies for several European
multinational companies entry into U.S. market. Analyzed and documented
product/market requirements for various industry segments. Performed
competitive analysis and recommended product positioning strategies.
Project: Asian Market Research Studies
Conducted three separate market research studies in Asia for major US
computer manufacturer. First study focused on use (and pervasiveness) of
object oriented software technologies in Japan. Second study reviewed new
computer technologies in use by several Asian countries including
Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong. Third study focused on computer graphics
software and hardware technologies under development in various Japanese
laboratories.
Project: Market Penetration and General
Business Strategy for US Market
Analyzed North American market and developed general business strategy
for modification and introduction of a digital switching system and
broadband networking products through the U.S. subsidiary of a major
European computer manufacturer. Project included preparing competitive
analysis and market strategy. Recommended delayed entry into market with
next generation products through OEMs, system integrators and VARs.
Contracted by client to perform a follow-on study to analyze automatic
test equipment market for potential entry through independent telephone
companies. Study resulted in recommendation of alternate partnerships and
product strategies.
Project: Joint Venture Facilitation
Researched, identified and then facilitated a joint venture between
large Japanese multinational manufacturer and major American aircraft and
defense contractor. The joint venture resulted in the combination (and
subsequent marketing) of software CAD systems between the two companies.
Project: Strategic Market Diversification for
Large Defense Vendor
Assisted a large defense systems integrator in diversifying into the
telecommunications business. Helped them understand the language,
organizations, markets, and other issues associated with the telecom
industry. Also assisted them in making the appropriate industry contacts.
Project: European/US Telecom Joint Venture
Facilitation
Conducted sales channel analysis, evaluated potential strategies,
facilitated joint-venture between local U.S. company and European telecom
company for sales and service of financial trading systems.
Project: Benchmarking and Analysis of
"Greenfield" Operation
Conducted research, benchmarking and analysis for major semiconductor
equipment manufacturer to identify success factors associated with opening
a new "Greenfield" manufacturing facility. Results of the research and
analysis enabled the manufacturer to replicate their original success at
additional manufacturing sites.
Project: Joint Venture Business Planning
Developed business plan for specialized consulting firm in conjunction
with Apogee International. Business services included multi-client
studies, convergence practice and custom consulting. Key focus was on
business processes. Developed analytical models for leveraging information
technology in specific vertical markets.
